Not a good idea, wolves are wild animals and belong in the wild not locked up or tied up in someones yard or house. Also, it is illegal in most places. If you really love them so much than let them have their freedom, and don't own one for your own selfish reasons. Go get a husky or a malamute and pretend it's a wolf.

My next door neighbor used to have a gray wolf. They raised it from a pup. It was SO sweet. But, they had to keep it pinned up or chained up because if it ever got lose (which it did one time) it was a heck of a time to catch her. They are so fast.

Well, there's one thing to remember. Grey wolves are pack animals and u would need to show who's boss (alpha male/female) from the beginning. Have you ever experienced raising any animal from a young age? It would be a good idea to read up on them and enter the pup into personal (1-on-1) training as soon as possible.

i wouldnt say tame but it is possible to make friends with them...i had a gray wolf and a timber wolf that i raised from cubs..i had them for eight yrs until they got heartworms and my vet refused to treat them because they were wolves...my male, which was the gray, had a very sweet disposition..my niece would ride him and play with him...Kajairo thought he was human...but my timber, the female...well she still had that 'wolf' all in her, although i never had any problems from her, she still had that wildness to her...i live out in the country and dont have any close neighbors..i kept them in a large lot, bout an 1/2 acre or so and would take them out into the deer camp where i turned them loose to run and play...they always stayed close but it was a good hour walk before they was ready to go home...i believe you have to find that common ground and treat them as what they are..wolves...they have a need to hunt, to run free and not be tamed...but you can be friends with them...you have to respect them and give them that respec back...id also make sure you read up on your local laws and talk to some vets in your area bout treating them before you purchase one...they are wonderful companions, but you have to be a wonderful friend to them as well

Depending on the laws in your area and where you get the pup it can be trained to love people like a dog. But it is still a wolf.

My friend had a gray wolf as a pet. It was the sweetest animal I ever knew. It loved humans, althought it was a bit hyper and jumped on me all the time. I hope that its mother is around and you don't take it from its mother. Why don't you get a malamute? I had two of them and they are very nice animals without the huge Wolfie nature.

well it depends where u live and if u have the stuff for it because if a wolf grows up around people and and u decide to let it go it could get servilely hurt and if there are kids around it could hurt them. and if u live some where around farms and it gets out it could kill there live stock. but see it all depends.

If you want a wolflike dog check a humane society instead of making a wild animal miserable you'd be saving another dog's life. I'm sure they probaly have something to your liking.

a wolf can be conditioned to live with a human trainer, but it is still a wild animal.
