Film critics use their own Scales to rate the qulaity of a movie.

ROper and Ebert use the THO THUMBS WAY UP to signify that they but highly recommend this movie. Two Thumbs down says that they dod not like it.

Many critics use a four star rating with one star being bad and four stars being excellent.

Some people find that they really agree with certain film critics and they trend to trust the critics ratings and advice as to whether they want to see the movie or not.

Other people are curious about the opinions of the critics but they want to see it for them selves.

When a large number of critics either priase a film almost unanimously or put it down almost unanimously - this tends to reflect that majority views.

That said - even the worst movies will have fans who love it and even the best movies will have viewers who hate it.
