West of Blaenau and seen from Porthmadog, a distinctive mountain rises for over 2000 feet. Cnicht was given its name by English sailors, for whom the triangular rockface resembled the helmet of a mediaeval k-night.

I found a photo of it, sure looks beautiful. I dont think Iv found your knight, but on looking for it I found a wealth of beauty.

"Cnicht is a hill in Snowdonia, known as the "Matterhorn of Wales" because of its appearance when viewed from the south-west. In reality Cnicht is a long ridge and, at 689 m, not particularly high.

The hill gets its name from the supposed similarity with a knight's helmet."
