Do you think Iraq should be divided into 3 districts? Sunni, Shi'tes, and Kurds?

These people can not and will not live together in peace. They keep wanting to kill each other off. It would be wonderful if they could live together and peace and tolerate of each others religious believes. But I don't believe that will happen. They could have 3 districts, will 3 different representatives.

That would be okay but that is not the only ones of the Islamic culture of Muslims. Drusi than Hezbollah doesn't like any of them. Then there is Egypt they have the ones who hate all of the above.

They ~did~ live in peace (well, at least more peaceful than the current state of affairs)...for a long time before we got involved.

Sounds nice, but what are you going to do about Baghdad? Both Shi'a and Sunni live there...and why would sects in natural resource depleted areas agree to this?

There is no easy answer to the mess in Iraq. It's chaos and it will only get worse. That's not pessism - that's just realism based on history and fact.

no is the short answer. never is the long answer. the Iraq-i war is fought for the simple reason to pull the country together...into one unity. true what you say..there are differences amongst the three main occupants of Iraq -- but so are many other countries on the planet...and they found a was to accept each other...and to live in peace. In conclusion, one land one country three people is OK.--until they find a leader to lead them -- someone like Kemal Ataturk, of Turkey. G-d & luck

Don't know about the Sunni or the Shites but I know that the Kurds have been fighting for years for Independent state. They the only lot in Iraq who hated Saddam when he was in power. Kurds have been also been treated badly by the Turkish government for years.

Interesting. They were living together in peace before the US interfered in their society.

Maybe the US should get out and leave them well enough alone. They could reestablish some equilibrium of getting along without outside 'help' as they are an incredibly rich country, sitting on a sea of oil.

The Electoral college device, Political Corruption, specific interest communities, Lobbyists, %. and super %. struggling with third events and Independents from getting elected, many times. yet Media Bias, Voter Apathy and Gullibility has lots to do with it too... You style of "gain what you sow". I've been thinking the same thing. If they won't cooperate in a unified government, they should be able to each have their own nation and their own government.

They shouldn't be divided. America was divided one time and we got over it. There was aparthied in South Africa. So it will come sooner or later. It might be later but will come.
