well it's not even going to get 50% of the people in New York because ever body in New York has turned into Mets fans. And with the bean-ball going on with them really nobody likes them. So I would say about 10%-15%.

Well, most people love the Yankees or realize that they're pretty much the devil of baseball...but then again, that comes from a Cubs fan...and a Red Sox fan.

According to recent study by The American Society of FairWeather Fans, 12.7% of the entire population claim to know of the yankees. Of those 12.7%, 11.8% actually care about them. (the other .9% said they care more about what happens to the people of said city).
Of the 11.8% that know of the yankees, 10.6% claim to be "fans for life"..but in actuality, only 1.3% are real fans.
