All Corporations are only interested in profits and big bonuses for their CEO's. And since they have the cash to control the Politicians (and thereby our government), things aren't likely to improve for the nation anytime soon.

You sound like a typical loony lying lefty loser. First your questions are based on lies. There was a long-term, expensive cleanup of the Valdez oil spill and the main phases of that effort were completed long ago. Any ongoing efforts were whatever was negotiated after the fact since some effects of an oil spill are long term. It's not just EXXON who wants to get ANWR and that's not the real question anyway. The real question is why aren't we doing the sensible preliminary work to make sure when we need it we have access to the oil there. Starting work now would reduce the value of the oil in world trouble spots like Iran and Saudi Arabia. The left talks out of both sides of it's mouth when it says first we should not be supporting the regimes in Iran and Saudi Arabia even as it says we should not take the steps (exploration & production offshore & in ANWAR) that would allow us to tell those countries to drink their oil instead of ripping us off with high oil prices the way they are.

Finally, the third category consists of democratic socialists who favor some of the same measures the communists advocate, as described in Question 18, not as part of the transition to communism, however, but as measures which they believe will be sufficient to abolish the misery and evils of present-day society.
These democratic socialists are either proletarians who are not yet sufficiently clear about the conditions of the liberation of their class, or they are representatives of the petty bourgeoisie, a class which, prior to the achievement of democracy and the socialist measures to which it gives rise, has many interests in common with the proletariat.
It follows that, in moments of action, the communists will have to come to an understanding with these democratic socialists, and in general to follow as far as possible a common policy with them – provided that these socialists do not enter into the service of the ruling bourgeoisie and attack the communists.
It is clear that this form of co-operation in action does not exclude the discussion of differences.

Last I checked we are a capitalist country. So one can assume it was monetary gain that Exxon is interested in.
