i think the whole experience of love is and can be what you make of it ...... if it is cheesy and fake then it is not really love is it ?
i consider myself to be very romantic .... i believe in opening the door for a young lady ... i believe in paying for everything ..... i was brought up in the old ways of things ..... women are beautiful creations of god in heaven and men would do well to respect that and honor that ,,,, that is where true love and romance begins anyway .... with god in heaven .... who do you think invented it ? .... just remember ..that what ever you put out .. is what you get back .....

Yes love and romance can really happen like it does in the movies.
My parents have been married for 51 years. They are still as in love or more in love as they were in the beginning. They still have that spark in their eyes when they look at each other. They still kiss, make love, hold hands. My dad still opens doors for my mom. They are constantly telling each other "I love you". They still go up to each other in passing and give each other a kiss for no reason other then JUST BECAUSE.
Last year on their 50th anniversary we had a celebration of their love. There were approx 100 people there. There was a wedding cake, presents, money tree, dinner the whole works.
The most important and the most loving part of the celebration was their renewal of their vows to each other.
And I got to be the maid of honor at this wedding.

My parents have survived a lot of heartache in these 51 yrs. Including losing two of their children (both their sons). One to a drunk driver, the other to suicide by hanging. The point is that they have made it through hell and back together. Through their love, trust, honesty, commitment and with a lot of communication.

So see, it does still exist. My parents are living proof.

Here's a story for you:

After a few months of dating my man I was supposed to go on a vacation with my family. I was so upset to leave my boyfriend and I called him bawling my eyes out that I couldn't bear to not see or talk to him for a week. So he drove 45 minutes to my house and when he got there I ran out of my house and we ran to meet each other in the middle of the street, crying and kissing and hugging... all the while it was pouring rain. How's that real life movie scene for you?

So actually, yes it does. But unlike the movies, people in those happy la la land states of love aren't always in it. If you notice, the movies never show you how Sam Baldwin and Annie Reed's long distance relationship worked out in Sleepless in Seattle or if Vivian and Edward lived "the fairy tale" in Pretty Woman. The "walking in to walls" kind of love does exist but like I said, in real life it doesn't always happen 24/7, there are down times, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Sorry for the long winded answer, but I hope I helped.
