Hi ok I know some of you are down on party planners or wedding planners. However after working in Event Management for the last 12 years I have now opened my own buisness and would like to hear how people feel about these matters. So that I can keep improving my buisness. So what I want to know here is have any of you ever decided you need a wedding planner/party planner that you can do it yourself and save money.Only for things to go totally wrong and wish you had hired someone to help. Please tell me your stories Thanks

My husband and I planned everything on our own. Of course, we ended up eloping because his folks were really, really mean to me and we didn't want to put up with our families. (We knew we were going to get married for a long time, but didn't do any shopping/planning until a few days before we went to courthouse.) It was fun, and the "wedding" only took about 2 minutes, so there wasn't much that could go wrong. I think we would have liked to hire someone to teach our families to behave! (It was several months until they found out that we got married, and they were really mad. I think they were really mad too because we got married because we wanted to... not because I was pregnant like his mother thought!)

Actually, I wish I would have been able to have the chance to have a wedding! I think I would hire someone, especially because we'd want to do a hand fasting ceremony and would need help with the planning.

I did almost everything myself because it was a 2nd wedding and I didn't have a lot of money to work with. I did my own flowers - ordered about 16 dozen roses and other flowers and made the bouquets, boutineers (sorry - spelled wrong) and corsages myself. They turned out okay, but it was so stressful doing that stuff the morning before my wedding! I also made a cake topper from the flowers, which came out great - but left me short on my bouquet. I even had to go to a grocery store and buy a few more dozen roses as I remember. Yes, I saved about $500 - 700 on the flowers, but I wouldn't do that again. Also, generally, my family and friends didn't like my itineraries for them for getting things done - 5 years later i still get teased about the papers I had for each of them of things to-do!

Is this a question or an advertisement????

Yahoo answers if for asking questions, not to be used as a service to get customers. And even If i needed a planner, after seeing your website, I would never hire you
