you have no idea what a weighty question you asked do you? first there are the neuro transmitters like acetylcholine, dopamine, seratonin, etc..

then you have the fun receptors that can pick up nicotine, alcohol, THC, etc.

brain chemistry is still not fully understood but full courses barely scratch the surface

Dopamine-Found in the midbrain and forebrain-involved in muscle movement and memory->change in levels have been linked to stress, poor memory and Parkinson's disease Serotonin-Most known for its role in depression Glutamate-Important neurotransmitter secreted that's involved with plasticity-altering neuronal connections And then you have the various hormones secreted by the pituitary and hypothalamus which control hormone secretion at other sites, such as ovaries, testes and adrenal glands.
