If by US national you mean that you have a green card, then you have to wait 5 years to apply for citizenship, after which it takes about a year to become a citizen. If you are married to a US citizen, cut the 5 years to 3.

You have a green card at this point and if you married U.S citizen then it will take you 3 years to become a naturalize citizen, but if you apply alone then it will take you longer. ( 5 years ) I wish you well and welcome to America. Let's join me as a taxes payer in this country.
