Given their salaries -- DEFINITELY NOT underpaid (WAY WAY OVERpaid and definitely NOT worth it). Wow ... think about the Military folks who are serving to "Protect and Defend" the Constitution of the United States all around this world. THEY Are the folks that are really underpaid.

OVERPAID, for very little effort, and not much value added.

That is why folks like me don't go to movies, don't see a ballgame or go to professional sports events anymore -- we can't AFFORD the tickets!

If two people voluntarily agree to the terms of the deal, there can be no such thing as "underpaid" or "overpaid."

These are subjective terms.

What one person may consider overpaid, another person considers underpaid.

The crucial factor:

When A-Rod signs a deal, he and the Yankees are BOTH satisfied with the terms. Otherwise, the deal would not have occured.

The terms "Underpaid" and "Overpaid" are mere opinions.

no, athletes or famous actors are sort of in the same league, they get paid according to how they perform, in the case of athletes every time they win a race, they get paid more through sponsorships from major bodies such as Nike, puma , Adidas, etc. In the same way actors are paid according to how convincingly they portray a character and how that character appeals to the audience, if the rate of viewers increases they also get incentives, sponsorship and increase in wages, in both cases if their performance start to decrease so does their pay until they are not able to perform,.

It could be estimated by looking at the revenue per game won or episode.
