My husband and I were talking about this a few days ago. Trailers are fine, I actually like watching them...but commercials before a movie is just way too much. Why pay money to go see that when you can just sit at home and see them on TV?

I look forward to the trailers but detest the commercials. I have Tivo at home and wish I could do the same at the movie theatre. They seem to becoming more prevelant and longer. What a pain!

I feel the movies are a huge rip off as it is I would perfer to be able to watch new releases at home on my own damn tv the food there is over priced also if you go with a date or kids be prepared to shell out around 35 for drinks and nachos and that s just nachos and drinks ....At first i thought they gave the ads to give the late comers time to get in and seated and such but I don t know anymore but i think it sucks the whole movie experience sucks..

I hate that with a passion - it's not as though most movies aren't filled with commercialism as it is, do I really need to suffer through a Nascar ad pushing Coke too?

Show up 15 minutes after the official start of the movie, and chances are you'll be able to see the movie from the very beginning.

I agree w/ most. I came to see the movie not a commericial. I could see that at home.
I don't agree to arriving late, unless th movies been out for a while. I just went to a movie friday night and was righ on time, but could barely find a seat b/c it was its opening weekend.

I concur totallly.
They used to do it in Europe in the 90s. When I was there I was incredibly grateful they didn't do it here. . .
But how fun would it be to make a theather commercial? on the big screen and all? and all the money you could make charging someone for running it?
I feel bad for the theather complaint desk guy in my town though. He's gotta be taking a beating. . .

You're not force-fed them. I never get to a movie until after the commericals, so I just see the trailers, and that's it. :o) Just don't go so early!
