Suppose you are helping to prepare a large meal. You can peel 2 carrots per minute. You need 60 peeled carrots.How long will it take you to finish if you have already peeled 18 carrots?

If you're doing it by yourself, I think the answer is 21 minutes. 2 carrots per minute = 30 seconds per carrot. If you've already done 18 carrots, then 60-18=42 carrots left. At 30 seconds per carrot, that would be another 21 minutes.
