And no, this isn't homework, I'm just seeing how awake your brains are after summer vacation. The 10 pts goes to the first person with the right answer, which would be demun, but i have to wait 4 hours before I can accept it. Why isn't this homework? Because I'm out of school already!

60 minus 18 = 42 which is how many is left...so 42 divided by 2 would be 21 minutes
60-18=42
42/2 = 21

If you are helping prepare the meal, are you peeling carrots by yourself, or do you have help doing so? If you're doing it by yourself, I think the answer is 21 minutes. 2 carrots per minute = 30 seconds per carrot. If you've already done 18 carrots, then 60-18=42 carrots left. At 30 seconds per carrot, that would be another 21 minutes.

Well this is easy enough. 60 - 18 = 42. So at two carrots per minute means you can peel the remaining 42 carrots in just 21 minutes.

60 carrots minus 18 carrots equals 42 carrots
42 carrots divided by 2 carrots per minute equals 21minutes
answer is 21 minutes
personally, with that many carrots needed I would have bought the tiny ones that are already peeled.

21 minutes you need 42 more carrots peeled and at two a minute that is 21 minutes the 18 you already peeled do not count towards the time left.

60-18 = 42 (the number left to peel)
42/2 = 21...it will take 21 minutes.
since you can do 2 carrots per minute, just divide this amount by 2...

answer=21 minutes
explanation=
You can make 2 carrots in one minute. That would mean 30 minutes would be used to make all of the carrots. 60carrots/2 carrots per minute=30 minutes to slice all carrots. 18/2 carrots per minute=9 minutes used. i got that because 18 carrots/2 carrots per minute= 9 minutes. 30 total minutes-9 used minutes=21 minutes left! here is just plain number explanations:
60/2=30
18/2=9
30-9=21
