First, have the confidence in yourself. You were asked to sing the national anthem, which is an honor at any level. Whoever asked must believe that you have a very good (if not wonderful) voice.

As for the stage fright, the only real cure is practice. To get over it for the game, just pick a spot, whether it's a blade of grass, a familiar face in the stands, or the QB's behind, and focus on it. Pretend you are singing to just that one spot.

Maybe it will help to practice in the mirror, or in front of family/friends. Maybe even sing while out in public, either with friends, or walking with an IPod/Portable CD player, sing along with the songs.

Then take a breath, and start singing. Do the job that we know you are capable of doing. Whatever you do, do not lipsync. Thats actually harder than actually singing.

Good Luck!

If you are in the press box, there are only a handful of people up there. Bring the words if you are afraid you might forget them.

If you are on the field, then you may want to close your eyes and visualize the words. Most everyone will be looking at the flag to begin with.

You could also simply decline the offer, but thank them for the opportunity.

If they asked you to sing, it must mean that you have a great voice. I know what you mean about the stage fright because I have it to, but you are your biggest critic and I'm sure they won't be judging you the way you think.

Just close your eyes & worried about the words. Don't worried about the people. Maybe this help you. Good luck.

When a Canadian team plays in a US stadium or arena, they do play "O Canada" before the US anthem.

I dont recommend Lip Sync(ing). Blow them away with your voice.
I saw on the brady bunch when i was a kid, that marcia was nervous about her driving test, so she imagined the instructor to be in his underwear....

whatever works for you. Good Luck!!!
