Hi, yes it is effective but please remember that it is only effective for 12 weeks (not 3 months). Make an appointement with your family planner or GP a couple of weeks before just incase you have to cancel it gives you time to rearrange and not get caught out.

yes it's effective from the time you have it it can stop your periods having the depo and its every 12 weeks you need it so its best to have it again on the 11th week! have you had all the info from your GP regaurding this? cos when you choose to come off it, it can still take up to a year or more to concive, they are also looking in to it cos they are now saying it can cause health problems later in life such as arthritis!!

the doctor would have told you if it wasnt.

for those who dont know, depo is the shortened of depo-provera which is a hormone contraceptive injection
