They appear blue in darked rooms but in direct sun light my eyes are light green. My wife said that is not hazel.

I have always thought that I had brown eyes but I've been told that I have hazel. Hazel is brown and green mixed together but from the sounds of your colour you have a greeny blue...I have no idea what they call that colour!

Hazel eyes are blue/green. This colour combination most often shows up in offspring of one blue eyed and one brown eyed parent where brown is not the recessive gene.
