Should I start a band? (but even a guitarist has to be able to sing. right?) Any ideas on the only talent I have?

Many bands are started by talented musicians that can't sing. If you are lucky enough to be able to play an instrument or write music, finding a singer shouldn't be all that hard. Instead of putting a band with a singer, you can choose a singer who best fits your music.

Why would guitarists have to be able to sing, just join a band and don't try to sing and say that you can't either that or spend tons on vocal lessons. If your really that good you don't need a singer and you could be the next joe satriani or steve vai.

No, a guitarist doesn't have to sing. It would be a nice plus but since you don't, just find yourself someone who can and put a band together. Maybe you can find someone who's a good singer AND good at playing a guitar, drums or whatever musical instrument you need.

no you dont need to know how to sing just form a band with a really good singer

Leo Kotkey. Can't sing a lick but he can make a guitar do everything but the grocery shopping. Really! The man is amazing.
Who sez ya gotta sing good??? Kris Kristofferson....the gentleman couldn't carry a tune in a dump truck!!!! I rest my case.

There are a lot of singers out there, stressed out because they can't play guitar. Look for a lead singer and be sure to mention that they would not have to play an instrument - bet a lot of people would be interested.

guitarists don't have to sing in bands. if you can't sing, you can't sing. find someone who can and who is willing to help you out.
