Heav'n but the vision of fulfill'd Desire,
And Hell the shadow of a soul on fire
Cast on the darkness into which ourselves
So late emerg'd from, shall so soon expire .
---------------------------how about this ?
Why , if the soul can fling the dust aside,
And naked on the air of Heaven ride ,
Were't not a shame-were'it not a shame for him
In this clay carcass crippled to abide ?

It's from the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam who was a medieval writer of ecstatic poetry. Much of it is very beautiful. The language, however, is dated. You can find lots of web sites if you google it.
