Because they have selective tolerance. I guess they have decided that they can pick and choose who they want to tolerate. I personally feel like real Christians probably have more tolerance than the libs. But I guess I'm confused by the whole push for tolerance in the world. If you tolerate people that means that you are irritated by something about them. Why is it that people can't learn to have acceptance instead. Some people don't understand and are offended by others beliefs and actions. Straight people have a hard time accepting that some people are gay and homosexuals have a hard time with accepting straight people, calling them names like breeders, like breeding is a disgusting thing. I think it's acceptance that people have a problem with. But then again you don't have to accept all forms of behaviour because some things are actually wrong. But when liberals attack Christians it makes no sense. I wonder sometimes where they get their propaganda. If they really understood Christianity they would see that they are attacking a group who holds high values and has great concern for their fellow men and women. John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved.

So if liberals see something that Christians are doing wrong against God's teaching they should point that out. Christians are only interested in the truth. So if I am doing something that is against God's will I would appreciate if someone told me so. And since you mentioned abortion, I don't think that abortion can be completely done away with and that is hard to accept. But what everyone should be able to agree on is that it is a bad thing. Once everyone agrees it is a bad thing then it won't be legislation that would reduce or eliminate it. It would be people accepting that they are responsible for their actions and take steps to prevent unwanted pregnancies since that is the usual reason for someone wanting an abortion.

Most liberals do not "hate" Christians. This is a straw man statement made up by the conservative media (e.g., Fox and Rush) as a way to neatly damn a group they call liberals, but which is actually anyone who doesn't believe what they believe.

Broadly, the progressive movement fiercely protects the right of every American to live life as he or she sees fit, without having their behavior dictated by any one religion. The Christian right has been very aggressive over the past ten years pushing its agenda on the rest of the counrty.

You're confusing the issues.

Law and religion are two separate sets of rules.

If you want to preach that abortion is bad, go right ahead. If you want to enforce your religious beliefs as a matter of that, that's a constitutional violation. If you want to bomb medical clinics for performing the procedure, that's a criminal act.

But stopping you from breaking the law doesn't stop you from speaking out all you want on the issue. That's the flip side. You don't get to kill or enslave in the name of you're religion any more than anyone else does. It has nothing to do with which god you believe in our how you pray.

Your right to express and practice your religious beliefs only extend to when they don't interfere with someone else's rights to think and pray differently. And bombing people in the name of religion is an atrocity, regardless of which religion you claim to practice.

If you don't believe in abortion, don't GD have one. You take that right away from the rest of us, you WILL start a very uncivil war. We are not going to let the fringe religious right use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down our throats. There is a Constitution and you will not be allowed to trash it to force your delusional superstitionist will. There is room in the liberal world for people like you, but we have no place in a theocratic dictatorship, so back us to the wall and see what happens.

Because some Christians try too hard to convert other people to their way of thinking, by starting a conversation about religion uninvited and under the pretense of "saving" them. Yet many of the tenets spouted by these few come off as hypocritical and contrary to the belief they spouted the moment before.
You don't see too many Buddists doing it.

I have noticed and No, you are not confusing the issues like that other pinhead said.

Its because liberals really can't stand diversity of thought. Liberals particularly hate practicing Catholics. They are now demanding that Catholic pharmacists in their own privately held stores sell drugs that violate their faith not because there is any real reason for it but because Catholic-bashing liberals cannot resist any opportunity to Sh** on the Catholic Faith.

Its a little like going into McDonald's and demanding to be served a Whopper. Liberals have zero respect for people who aren't exactly like them. Liberals want the right to never be told that they are wrong.

I, a proud agnostic liberal, do not hate Christians, but rather disdain christianists. Christianists are those who want to impose, particularly using state power, their narrow model of religion on people who don't want it in violation of the First Amendment. They are frequently hypocritical in their own affairs and choose hate as opposed to love which Christianity values.

Becuase Christianity is one of the few religions that has consequenses for sin. Most people hate having consequences. Most other religions don't even metion sin. In the Bible, God says that Jesus is a stumbling block. Humans naturally like to sin and they don't want someone telling them what to do.
