Good answers so far, but think about what happens to the shell, you break it to get to the peanut, and discard it, hmmmmm

Hope it's not my mom, but guess it sorta works to be your body, seeing as life' sover when the body breaks ........

I like Annies answer.

If life is a peanut, what flavour is the peanut. When you know the flavour, than you will know more about the shell....

If what I wrote is true, than my answer is: the shell is what we don't need. A very scary answer indeed.

Life is a peanut??? Who says and how does he/she know?
What makes THEM the all-seeing all-knowing knucklehead namer-of-things?

Besides, as everybody knows, life's a jellyfish!

As a metaphor, as would say it is what we use to protect ourselves. An outer shell, whether its cold or warm
