How long have you been sick? Colds last for about seven days, whether you medicate them or not. Cold and cough syrups lessen symptoms but don't actually heal you. If you are taking the syrups to help with your throat or stuffy nose and then going off and doing everything you would normally have done if you weren't sick, you are probably only prolonging your illness by ignoring your symptoms. You need to take a break and let yourself heal!

Eat foods that are good for you, like fruits and vegetables and make yourself or ask someone to make you some soup. Soup really helps you feel better and it clears your sinuses. Drink plenty of water, and if you can (and if you feel really miserable), take a day off of work to rest. Get plenty of sleep, at least eight hours a night, to help your body fight the virus.

If you have been sick for two weeks or more, go to the doctor. You might have something more serious, like a flu or bronchitis. If you are coughing up bright green phlegm, go to the doctor right away; you definitely have bronchitis. Otherwise just wait it out and take care of yourself!

You might have more than a cold. If a cold last more than 7 days there is something else going on. In the meantime...you might try using steam tothe face which might help break up the cold. Also vitamin C and also zinc is suppose to give your immune system a boost. Get plentyof rest and drink lots and lots of water.
Hope you feel better soon.

There is a product out there called COLD FX. It actually works! I use it all the time. If you are in the middle of a full blown cold, it's effectiveness will be limited, but next time you feel like one is coming, start taking it right away as prescribed on the bottle and your cold will not come at all.

Stay in bed, drink plenty of fluids and take an aspirin. I will take its time, usually a cold is 3 days coming, 3 days staying, and 3 days going. The only thing you can do is rest. Drink Orange juice, eat Chicken soup it will make your nose run and clean your sinuses.
Get well soon

I have bad colds to. My doctor gave me prescription medicine. I didnt buy it over the counter. But the truth is. No tylenol or syrup from over the counter really works. Not that it isnt worth buying. It really doesnt cure you. It just helps your body to speed up the process.

Maybe these aren't simple colds. Consider bronchitis. The next time you get one of your "very bad colds", like right now, see your doctor for a diagnosis.

try to drink lot of hot drinks (tea, coffee, soup) the best drink for cold and flu is tea with a twist of lemon it tastes bad but it's perfect
you can also drink different citrus juses like orange and lemon even if you don't have cold or flu
and you musn't smoke (much if you are a smoker) and try to move your body and lifeyour normal life .. don't surrender to the bed because that really makes you weaker
and i wish for you a quick recovery :)

Make chicken soup, split pea soup (with cayenne pepper in it) and lentil soup.

Sleep sitting up partially in your bed to let your sinuses drain.

Drink lots of fluids and eat your soups for a few days.

You will feel lots better soon.
