I love the houseboats.

I currently live in a large house however, large houses are not necessarily the best.

I found that some older homes, while small around 1600sq ft, had some really nice decor to it and being small, it felt really charming.

Notice the larger the home, the more wasted space they introduce, such as oversized hallways and useless walls, curved walkways, gigantic staircases..

I rather have the spaced used for these things reduced and give me more living space if it was a large house like 3400 sq ft or larger.

I lived in an underground house once which was designed in such a way that it had plenty of light. The maintainance was non existant, and the energy consumption was very low. Repeating that experience today would be a relief .

a bungalow with laundry on the main floor.
Other than that, probably good heat, air conditioning and LOTS of kitchen cabinets and space.
I would also prefer a three bedroom and a large back yard would be manditory!
Also, no siding. It would have to be brick or stone. Siding is UGLY in my opinion.

A raised berm house. You build the house out of concrete, then cover it with earth. No flooding, low maintenance, easy to control climate indoors, and safe from storms.

Built into a large hill to cut heating/ cooling costs. Ground temp remains 55f at 8 ft. below ground year-round, and can reduce utility costs tremendously !!

The home I own right now!!!! I am renovating it myself to age in place and enjoying the progress and results by being careful, confident, and doing my own work, which I know will be correct the first time and not sloppy or need repairing.

I would like to buy and remodel an older Victorian home with gables. I like cherrywood furniture and lamps with fringey shades--my dream home.
