I have acne and sometimes my mom lets me use a little make-up (for school pictures and other important occasions) Is that wrong for me to do? Does it make me unmanly?

I am on acne topical cream RX. I only use this when I get really bad ones.

Let me tell you something.
In the movies, on Tv, on modeling shoots, guys are always wearing makeup to make them look better. Even when they aren't on camera! And did you know that up until the 20th century, men wore makeup every day, in some periods they wore MORE than the women!
I think in today's society, men are so concerned about being masculine and macho that any trace of feminity is considered taboo, even though being a little bit "feminine" is natural. The point is, if you're embarrassed about your condition and makeup helps you feel a little less self conscious then go ahead and wear it. Every day if you want to. You won't get thrown in jail or have to serve detention if you wear a little concealer or foundation. It's not like it's eyeshadow or lip gloss.
Good luck!

Here's a tip that should help you and all guys out there- ALL men who get in front of a camera regardless if its the evening news or a TV show wear makeup the harsh lights do awful things to a normal skin color and they all need to wear it so they don't look dreadful.
They do make acne creams with tint as well just for this reason in fact some sunscreens now come pre tinted for the face Check out nuetrogena's facical sunblock- non clogged and tinted and you are actual better off wearing a tinted sunscreen all day and that is certainly not un-cool it's protecting your face down the road.
You'll end up being the best looking guy at your 25 yr reunion if you start wearing sunscreen everyday now!

no. But in my school there is an option where it will touch up your face on the computer. The only problem with wearing makeup is that it can look really fake if you don't apply it right. Then you could be known as "The Boy Who Wears Makeup"

I've seen men wear make-up. Many scene guys wear eyeliner and powder and crap. I guess it's all the day now. That's how the world has evolved.
Wear make-up, put on a skirt, heck-- get some heels with that too.

I don't think it's wrong for males to use a little make-up but it really won't help your acne.

It is okay only if it isn't real noticeable. I had a guy friend that did that because he had REALLY bad acne. You do what you have to do.

No its ok. Its just that its not good thing to put makeup on acne because it makes it worse. you should start using medicines to clear our skin up. I used proactive, neautragena and now using benza-clin. it the other two didnt work for me. but you should try them. benza-clin seems to be working. but i have to wait to see if it really does.

No it does not make you unmanly, you should do what feels good for you. If it helps make you feel more confident, then why not?
