I'm under the impression that you are 14. If you have an 18 year old boyfriend he will not be arrested for being your boyfriend but for what he might possibly be doing with you. It's for your protection because at 14 even tho you may think you know what is best for you you DON'T. At 18 a person is considered an adult and even tho that person might and probably is not that much more mentally mature than a person at 14 they are still considered an adult and it is morally and legally wrong for an adult to do certain things with a child, which at 14 you are. People just don't want to see a child taken advantage of by an adult.

There's no law against a 14 year old having an 18 year old boyfriend.

But, if they want to have sexual relations, there are laws against that. A 14 year old is viewed as not old enough to make an informed decision about whether to have sex, so an 18 year old would be having non-consensual sex, even if the 14 year old agreed.

I'm not trying to say that's correct, but that is the reasoning behind the "statutory rape" laws.

At age 14 you are not legally considered capable of making adult decisions concerning intimacy but an 18 year old is expected to make adult decisions. Also in your just starting teen years your emotions are out of wack because your bodies are changing to become an adult and there is a lot going on with hormones. When you have someone that is an adult that is becoming intimate with you they have a better chance of manipulating your ability to choice what is best for you. This is of course not always the case but the vast majority of the time it is. The law is there to protect teen agers from these new adults that are just out for one thing from a younger person that they know they can control easier than someone their own age. I don't know your 18 year old but I do know that if he is one of the many; you are too close to see it and won't until it is too late. Then your going to get hurt really bad. If he is truly in love with you and not a child predator and the two of you do have an intimate relationship your both chancing putting him behind bars AND making him sign for the rest of his life as a child predator. It is best to wait to have a relationship until you are old enough for this not to happen. If the two of you truly love each other you will find your way back to each other. That is definitely easier said than done but it is the best choice at this time for you.

Well, it is not wrong to have a boyfriend who is 18. However, if you and him have sex and your parents found out. They can report to police for Statutory rape against your boyfriend. Why your parents can do that? That's because your boyfriend is 18. By law, he is an adult. You are 14, you're still a minor. In the law term, he has sex with a minor and that's against the law.

Hopefully, I answer to your question. if not, then sorry.

Because at 18, your boyfriend is an adult. For the most part, he is physically and mentally ready for a serious relationship. However, at 14, you are still a minor. If you are sexually active, not only will your boyfriend be arrested but he will also be charged with statuatory rape. It does not matter if the sex was consensual. He can only be charged if your parents choose to press charges, since they are your legal guardians.

Because it is said by parents, elders so on that if you are 14 you don't have an idea of how love goes, so should have a clue how sex goes....In some ways I agree others I don't.....Such as onec you lose you virginity you will never have it again, you two may or may not stay together, what about children (accident s do happen, even when you think they won't)... What type of future do you want with him...is he interested in building a future with you? questions to ask him!!! What about kids...planned or un planned!!

CAn it all....Do you really like him and can you tell without a debout that he likes you....??? Think long and hard before you let anything go on!!!!

Only if you have sex. Your boyfriend can be 18, but you should have your parents okay to date first. Personally, I think 18 is way too old for you at 14, and he needs to date girls his age, not you.
There is something not right about a 18 dating anyone under 17.
He should wait until you are 18.

Cuz you are 14 and that be an easy target for a guy that is over 18 to get what he wants from you before you even know it.

No 18 yr old should be dating a 14 yr old. At 18 a person is considered an adult, but a 14 yr old is still a kid. I know, I know, "But I LOOOOVE him." Wait five years. It will all be different.
