I am a Californian-- great weather and no humidity. Also not completely flat. Not too big a fan of LA, but San Francisco (I'm from the Bay Area) and San Diego are both wonderful. It is a pricey area but I think you get what you came for. Oh and we do have earthquakes, but then again Florida has hurricanes, and they do seem to hit more frequently (my grandparents live in Pensacola and I think they were hit by four hurricanes over two years... There hasn't been a big earthquake in SF since '89.)

Between the 2: Florida. Low taxes/no state income taxes, reasonable real estate no radical up and down real estate prices, no radicals for that matter. Good health care, reasonable weather most of the time, no state income taxes. Beaches are superb and a short drive from anywhere, no drought problems, reasonable laws, and did I say no state income taxes?

NIETHER. CALIFORNIA IS VERY HIGH PRICED LIVING, HAS EARTH QUAKES. HIGH CRIME RATE, BAD TRAFFIC OVERFLOW CONGESTION.
FLORIDA HAS TOO MANY HURRICANES, BAD FLOOD INSURANCE COVERAGE, HIGH INFLUX OF ILLEAGAL ALIENS FROM 3 TO 4 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, COST OF LIVING IS HIGH, CRIME RATE IS HIGH. IT RAINS 28 DAYS OUT OF EVERY MONTH.
