If you mean how do your rank well in the search engines, then you need to optimize your site for the search engines. Here is a good tutorial:

If you mean how do you get Google to index your site (i.e., process your web pages) you need to get a quality incoming link, preferably from a popular and respected site in your industry. Do NOT submit your site to the search engines, there is no need any more and in some cases it could hurt your efforts to rank well in the search engines. These days the search engines prefer to find your sites naturally.

Build links for other sites to yours! I use an EZ program that finds good sites, send out an email invite to trade links and even builds the link pages.
Once you have other sites pointing at your site, rankings zoom up! I know, I did it and my Adsense income runs about $25 per day!
It takes time! But, it really works!

It's dependent on how much traffic goes to your site but adding this will code will help increase traffic.
It may take time before you see results though.
You can submit it to search engines but those may time longer and I believe some charges a fee.

google has this thing called "robot", that thing searches the internet every week or so for websites, images, etc.. and once that robot finds your webiste, your website will be added to google or yahoo or whatever.

like when ya look for it and it then shows? for that you put in info on your site that is very special for it and it should show
