Find out what the maximum CPU your motherbaord can handle. Find out the maximum amount of memory you can put in your computer. Your laptop specs or tech support people can help yuou determine that. Then buy the right components and install them.

Have you ever looked inside the case of your laptop? There is little additional space in there for additions or substitutions. I'd recommend that you apply the money for the projected upgrade to a new laptop. From my personal experience, if you don't open it up (except where access is provided, ie memory upgrade and hard drive replacement), you can't void your warrenty OR make the laptop worthless.
