Im on ortho cyclen and have been taking abx for the last ten days i know that while i am on the abx my birth control is less effective so my bf and i have been using an additional form of birth control, but im wondering if we have to continue using another form after i am done taking the abx or how long do we have to use another form of bc for

I would wait a month before stopping the additional birth control.

YES!!! AT LEAST for a while after taking your antibiotic use other forms of birthcontrol... I found out after I got pregnant that some antibotics mixed with the pill will actually becaome a fertillity drug. I don't wanna scare you but If you are not ready to become a mom yet !!! I recommend condoms & the pill ALL THE TIME unless you are ready to become a parent!!

You should keep using another birth control method (Eg. condom) for the rest of the cycle you are on. You should be fine the next time you start the next package.

In other words, use a condom or something with your birth control for a month after you use an anti-biotic. Just to be safe.

Usually it's best to use backup methods through the rest of your pack. Once you start your new pack, you should be all set.

I usually amcareful for about a week after finishing my antibiotic.
