I have a boyfriend and the truth is we're both too young the problem is he lies a lot. But about money issues for example he sold his computer to my dad but he told his dad that he just let us borrow it and he hides many things like those type of issues to his dad. Im sure he dosen't steal money but then where does he get the money from (he's 16). All of these issues have made him look bad to my family and too all the people around us now everyone thinks he is a bad influence. I just want to clear everything up and for everyone to be happy. What can I ask him or what can I do to know the truth? thanks.

your bf may be lying because he doesn't want to deal with the repercussions or consequences of his actions. he does this because he's had a bad experience before where he was honest and he didn't get the reaction he wanted from it. he doesn't tell the truth because he doesn't want to deal with the pain of the truth. now he's learned that the only way is to do things underhandedly. he's getting his money likely from doing things such as selling his dad's computer to you and getting the money from it....then he 'lies' to dad that he lent it to you so that he doesn't get in trouble because telling dad the truth would not go over well, and the consequences and pain from telling the truth would be too great. your bf needs to be honest in the way he lives his life. in order to do this, he needs to gain some self esteem/confidence. he needs to feel comfortable with himself to be able to be himself, which is ultimately to be truthful.

This is entirely his call. What you can do is try asking and reasoning with him. Try pressuring him a little over the issue. Tell him how much you appreciate him being honest and tell him that his actions and behaviors make you feel uncomfortable.

Try to be reasonable and polite with him. He might just do this for the sake of your happiness or just to show that he is a man who can handle money issues. He might be wrong, he might have stolen that money, perhaps he might have even earned it by helping someone with their errands. The odds are many... However, make him realize the fact that all this is kind of behavior is disturbing to you. Hopefully this should work.

Good luck!

P.S.: Be patient and sympathetic. This is not a very big issue. It's a pretty simple one. Just play your cards right! ;)

The only person's behavior you can change is your own. So change your behavior and find an honest man.
