Can't be done. Ink cartridges have little computer chips in them that let's the printer know what exactly is being installed into the printer. I suggest getting rid of your Dell printer (sell it or something) and get an HP. HP cartridges can be found anywhere that sells printers and the cartridge/inks are much better quality than the Lexmark/Dell- and cheaper at that.

ON the newer models you can't. Although the cartridge and printer are manufactured by lexmark. Dell cartridges have been specifically keyed as Dell cartridges. They have one extra electronic contact on the rear that will prevent any cross over.
ON the older models (more than about 18 months old), you simply have to switch the lexmark and dell lids or break of a small fin inside the cartridge lock on the printer.

Lexmark makes Dell printers. Dell then takes them and places their logo on them. you may study a number of their fashions and see how comparable they are. The cartridges are additionally precisely the comparable, yet regrettably you won't have the capacity to apply cartridges made for different machines. you may desire to the two purchase new Dell cartridges, replenish your latest ones or purchase remanufactured ones made particularly on your style. even however Lexmark cartridges will bodily in super condition, your printer won't acknowledged them.

You really should be more specific. Do you know if you have the right ink cartridge? If you truly have no idea what you are doing than you should go to the Dell website with the make and model # for your printer. Nobody here can help you if you don't give us any information.

Why don't you get your self a Canon HP1500. The initial price is hefty, but the cartridges only cost you $5 for blk, and $6 for color and they do 500 sheets of paper.

Hit it with a hammer...then go out to staples and buy a new printer with new cartridges. How often do you print? What kind of prints?
