I am tired of all the rude people around when I go to the movies. I have tried ignoring it, confronting it, but nothing seems to work. Last night I saw "World Trade Center", and besides people laughing inappropriately at the wrong times (which I will chalk up to being uncomfortable with the subject matter), people were talking throughout the film (one guy was translating into Spanish to his wife), several people opened up cell phones to check the time (which displays a distracting very bright glow at their seats), someone was kicking my chair near the end of the film, and the couple next to me were talking and fondling each other throughout the film (the fondling part is OK but would you really do this during a movie about 9/11?). At the start of the movie, the couple on my other side were talking, and I looked at the woman and said, "you know, he's right" as if I were conversing with her. She was so flustered that they shut up the rest of the time. I don't know what else to do! HELP!

Do like I did. The exact same movie last night I had 2 guys and a girl behind me. The girl kept kicking my seat and they were laughing loudly and talking on their cell phones.
I wanted to turn around SO bad but I thought no since I had my two boys with me. I got up as if to go to the restroom and asked for the theater manager. I told him what was happening and that they were making everyone miserable.
He gave me enough time to get back to my seat and a few minutes later he must have been standing in the aisle where nobody could see him. He came straight up to where they were and told them they would have to leave. They gave him a hard time and he had them escorted out.
Don't tolerate it. The manager wants you to come back. He even found me after the show and gave me 3 free passes for whatever movie I wanted to see for my inconvenience.

I will often turn around and stare at people... when they finally get annoyed and ask me "What's Up?" I tell them, "I can rent this later. I may never get to hear you guys ever again!"
Or, I'll ask them for my money back, since they can throw away $20 on a movie and not watch it.
Once I turned around and said scornfully, "This isn't your home. This isn't a VCR, We can't hit rewind. Would you please SHUT UP!" THEN, I noticed it was my former music teacher from high school... and I said "hello" (oooops)
Yes, people are RUDE, and SELFISH... they forget that the experience is NOT all about them.
Sorry, if you didn't get a babysitter... if you didn't get into the one with the Spanish subtitles... if you didn't get into the movie you really wanted to see... if you are really just biding your time at the movie until the real fun starts later... That stuff is NOT my fault. Don't inflict you OR your life on me, when I never asked for it.

We don't go to the movies anymore. We just wait for the DVD to come out on Blockbuster online. If by chance we do go, we go during the fall/winter/spring when kids are in school and early enough that there are only a few people in the theatre who really want to see the movie.

Have an employee walk to the front of the theater and escort loud people out. If they will not do that, then keep going up the food chain. Go to the concession stand and ask for the manager. Tell them that you want a refund on your ticket, because of the noise level of the other patrons that you are unable to even hear the movie you paid to see and hear.

Consider going to a late night showing of the film as most people will be trying to get to bed at that time. If you can't see it late, get an usher in there to shut these people up! That's their job!

I totally feel for you. I hate it when people feel like that have to make jokes for the whole theater or yell suggestions to the actors on the screen. people seem to be lacking in manners or home training or something. aside from calling the person out on their rudeness there isn't to much else you can do.

u can send for the manager of the facility.
He can kick anybody out as he sees fit.
If he refuses, u can call the police.
Btw, if the police come, the movie is stopped and mgmt of the theatre is arrested as are the 'disrupters'.
