What I liked better was their attempt at the "state secrets" defense...
"Yes, what we did was legal. But we're not allowed to show you the laws that gave us the authority, because you're only a federal judge appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. Therefore, you must take our word that these laws actually exist and dismiss the case sight unseen."
