I checked the link, thanks for that. I don't believe he could fly. Lots of medieval legends are just that and originate from hearsay. In those days it would have been a wondrous occurrence and word would have spread quickly. Crowds of pilgrims would have attended the church bringing wealth and prosperity to it. None of the pilgrims would actually witness a flight but you can guarantee that when they returned home they would say that they had. The cartholic church is always happy to confirm these kinds of stories. Just look how many dozens of nails from the cross it has authenticated and phials of Christ's blood. Also it is they who designate who should be a 'Saint'. So it is not surprising that such a story should be accepted as authentic. The same happens at Lourdes, which is visited by millions of people in the mistaken belief that they can be cured by dipping the waters there. This myth goes back to the time when children out playing and coming home late made up the story that they had been visited by a vision of Mary so as to avoid getting in trouble. Just see how that one exploded.. History is full of such myths. Don't fall for any of them.
