I dunno though... Marlon was a major hunk... Al never had that....

Brando's best work was as a young man in films like "On The Waterfront" ,"The Wild Ones" and "Streetcar". He was just fantastic in those older films. The Godfather was a great role for him too. Unfortunately his career went downhill as he aged. I think Pacino has some of the same acting abilities, he was really good in "Dog Day Afternoon", he continues to make good films even as he ages. If I had to name an actor that reminds me more of Brando though it would be Sean Penn.

Well, from the little bit I know... Pacino memorizes his lines as opposed to having them fed to him via earprompter... Pacino has never sent a representative of a repressed minority to turn down an award for him... and of course Pacino has not trippled in girth.
So, NO... Pacino is NOT the new Brando
(Thank goodness... it was too bad that the OLD Brando became the NEW Brando.)

I definitely agree with your assessment. Although in different eras, Al Pacino is bringing the same brand fo acting to the latter 20th and 21st century. I love Al Pacino and I'm actually curious as to who he will pass this "excellent acting" baton to!

If you say so. Al Pacino played a godfather? When? He was a drug dealer in Scarface, do you mean they both play criminals?

How do you study the two? does not make sense... once you're gonna study Sean Connery with yet another actor, you may desire to besides study him to his long term working chum Michael Cain

No. They are two different kinds of actors. Both good but different.
