You'll need to be more specific to get a good answer.
Try asking again with details like:
-what do you plan to use it for? (home defense, personal carry, hunting grizzly bears, target shooting...?)
-what is "affordable" to you? ($200, $500, $800?)
-have you ever shot before?
-do you care if it's a revolver or a semi-auto?
As you see, there are too many variables for a one-size-fits-all answer.

the only handgun which could rather be operated with one hand is a revolver. In a common semi-vehicle pistol (i.e. Glock), you may desire to press a button, grab a clean magazine, insert it, and rack the slide. With some prepare, you ought to develop into gifted at loading and shooting a revolver one exceeded. to function to what previous human beings already pronounced, a 357 magnum in a 4 or 6 inch barrel will supply multiple potential with a viable quantity of draw back. If the draw back develop into too plenty, you ought to shoot weaker 38 particular rounds, or a 38 particular +P around for overall performance someplace between the in many situations occurring .38 particular and the 357 magnum.

I carry a Springfield Armory 1911. Any of the 1911 versions (I've heard that it is hard to break in a Kimber). The XD line are good pistols. Colt is good, Wilson Combat's 1911 are considered the best 1911.

revolvers are only good because if i bullet doesnt fire you skip it in a mag if the bullet doesnt eject you cant fire....but revolvers are 5-6 shots versus 9-16 and mags are interchangable so fast reload

Depends on what you plan on doing with it.
For general use, a .38 revolver is relatively cheap and easy to shoot.

You haven't provided enough information to give you a good answer. What is your budget? Is this for self-defense or target shooting? Do you plan on carrying it?
