Find the verb. Say "who or what" + verb=subject
say the subject and verb and "who or what". The answer is the direct object if the verb is not a linking verb. To see if you have an indirect object say the s + v + direct object + to whom or form whom. If you get an answer, the answer is the indirect object. The indirect object comes between the verb and direct object. (Not every sentence will have an indirect object) For the prepositional phrase, you must know the prepositions. To find the object say the preposition and who or what. Answer is the object of the preposition.

Should be "slippers". Not completely sure, but "house" in this case should be an adjective as it defines the type of slippers? Good question though!!
