I live in the South & I'm not ignorant. you're just offended by my question because I had the nerve to ask it. I also have great friends who are black. people shouldn't use the color of there skin as an excuse for not getting what they want out of life.

Snipe warning: the Democrats support the welfare program, I don't hear about very many success stories of people getting out of it. the Democrats have those people right where they won't them- it's all false hope.

You are absolutely correct.ANY all white organization is viewed as racist.I think the NAACP spends most of its time trying to justify its existence. It seems to me that black people have exactly the same opportunities as white people.I will concede that at one time MANY years ago, black people were treated badly, but those days are long gone ,never to return. so ..what is the purpose of such an organization? you got me there,i don't know.

It is for Black peoples rights, Im not against them but sometimes they play the race card way too much. Yes they are white people in it. They just voted a few months ago a white man president in this district. I was suprized.

It is supposed to be a civil rights organization, but it is racist. There are white people in it, and yes, if white people had a organization like the NAACP, the white people would be called racist, and that, sadly is a fact!!!!

The NAACP mission statement reads as follows: The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.

Snipe warning...The whites already have a group. It's called the Republican Party.

There are tons of white organizations. Most organizations are racists and eletist to whites that is why we have things like BET and NAACP. People do not get it. It is a whole white world. You do not get it because you are in it. Everything in socitey is white. You allready have white everything. Go to the south if you really want to see discrimination. People feel discriminated against and do not feel their needs are met, so they make these specific things. We cannot have WET or White entertainment television because it all is already. Make some friends of different races and try to understand all this. People do not feel the same way you do. I am white and I have friends in other groups and they do not feel society is as open to them. They feel like things are not for them. I feel bad. I feel like they are no different than me, but they feel discomfort for reasons that society and history has made them feel that way.

no your wrong and from all appearances not very bright...

The NAACP was formed in response to the 1908 race riot in Springfield, capital of Illinois and birthplace of President Abraham Lincoln. Appalled at the violence that was committed AGAINST BLACKS, a group of WHITE liberals that included Mary White Ovington and Oswald Garrison Villard, both the descendants of abolitionists, issued a call for a meeting to discuss racial justice. Some 60 people, only 7 of whom were African American (including W. E. B. Du Bois, Ida B. Wells-Barnett, and Mary Church Terrell), signed the call, which was released on the centennial of Lincoln's birth.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has been instrumental in improving the legal, educational, and economic lives of African Americans.

Combining the white philanthropic support that characterized Booker T. Washington's accommodationist organizations with the call for racial justice delivered by W. E. B. Du Bois's militant Niagara Movement, the NAACP forged a middle road of interracial cooperation. Throughout its existence it has worked primarily through the American legal system to fulfill its goals of full suffrage and other civil rights, and an end to segregation and racial violence.

try real hard and you won't be so ignorant.

I know you can do it
