Do we really need to stay there?
Is it worth lives?
Or is it all about the pride and greed of having more?
Is it worth while?

The war in Iraq is a blatant opportunism. The sole purpose was to get hold of Iraq's oil resources (second largest mapped and the largest unmapped reserves). While Bin Laden is hiding in Afghanistan, we only have a few thousand NATO troops there, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/ll and we have two hundred thousand American and British troops there.

But now that they have committed this blunder, they must not run away from it, because leaving Iraq now will mean anarchy and a safe haven for militants. They should first build an Iraqi army and police, establish democracy there and then leave.

I believe that bush's agenda was not WMD; but Iraq from the start. Now we are in a quandry. We have lost to much to leave but will lose more if we stay. Smacks of what the govt told all the good ole american citizens during viet nam, They operate on the fact that they really believe we will believe them, because the have out best interests at heart Wrong war Wrong place Wrong Enemy Wrong Time

Honestly, it is a useless war. Many have suffered, few have been captured. How can peace ever become a reality with so much prejudice in the world? The war isn't doing any country any Justice, it's only costing money, that I've personally seen could be used right here in the USA.

We went in under false pretenses and destroyed their country, with expressed intent to rebuild it and "help" Iraqis build a democracy (not a form of government of their choosing). The motives appear to be imperialistic and the results have been disastrous. As of one month ago there were people that still did not have access to water and electricity in their homes, services they had before the war. As a consequence of our nation's incompetence we have sparked an insurgency that tip-toes back and forth across the line of being a civil war. The cost in human lives of all nationalities has not been worth it and I don't think it ever will.

We revere those that have given their lives in defense of our country. Sadly, the soldiers that have died in Iraq did not do so in defense of this country; they did it based on orders of greedy imperialists that thought they would gain unfettered access to the oil spigot that is Iraq by keeping their new friends from joing OPEC. Nonetheless, the soliders deserve our respect and reverance as their lives were given with honorable intent on their part. I mention this only to introduce that in 20 years, if Iraq is the fluorishing democracy the Bush administration wants it to be, I still don't think it would have been worth the lives of our soldiers, other soldiers in the coalition, or those innocent civilian Iraqis that have been killed.

If regime change was necessary in Iraq it should have been handled by supporting Iraqis in toppling their own government. I think the reason this was not done is that the U.S. seems to have a poor decision making track record when it comes choosing which insurgent group to support, particularly in the Middle East.

I still think it would irreponsible for the U.S. to simply withdraw. The only way we can get out of this would be to enlist the support of other nations, preferably those from the Middle East, to help establish peace in Iraq. We should cease interference with development of their government and let Iraq pursue requests for assistance in that regard on its own. We should also accept the possibility that democracy may not be the appropriate form of government for them. Coalition forces should focus their efforts on rebuilding and solicit the assistance of the others in the United Nations to put that country back in working order.

This war is just like the Gulf War- all about oil

And why is it that America and Britain can invade another country and boot out the leader and get away with it?
If that was any other country, there would be a worldwide outcry.

I think it is a violent fight that we really do not need. It is costing us money and lives. I Think America should be our own country, and we should find a way to make EVERYONE run their cars on something less poluting and that IS NOT OIL, and we could stop this war. We should not use many other things from other countries, even china, we should make our own stuff. We do not need this war!

I think its a war worth fighting for. Those of you who say it is all about oil are dumb asses. If we are getting oil from the war then why are gas prices still high. There may be a bit of other motives in it but were accomplishing more in it then we would have with John Kerry.

The saddest/scariest thing concerning this war is that Bush has stated that God told him to invade Iraq ; it scares me that the person responsible for the greatest military right now is apparently delusional !

i think that you guys shoukd be proud of george bush and shouldn't criticize him , coz i feel that people like Saddam and Osama are a danger to the democratic world....... agreed its leading to a lot of bloodshed bt just look at the brighter side of it .....i still say that having a fair trial for Saddam is wrong coz if he gets away he wont let america r.i.p......

i would in the end just say that support ur president coz hes correct.....
