Well maybe shes the type of person who is very independent and isn't the marrying type, some people are just not right for marriage

Cause she's smart. If we were meant to be attached to other people, til we die, we would've been born conjoined. You don't need anyone else to "complete you". Some people think they have to be married at some point in their lives. They usually end in divorce after they wake up and smell the coffee. You're a whole person and that's what Oprah realized in the neck of time.
I wish I had made that decision...probably my ex- does, too...LOL! I don't have a problem with that. We were miserable together. I'll never marry again. I've been separated since '96 and love every minute of my freedom.
Down with marriage!

Why would Oprah want to be married? She's very rich and famous and has said for years she doesn't want to have children so marriage would be all risk and no gain for her.
I posted a question about why she got rich in america but built a school in africa when she herself did a couple of shows about how bad the school system in american is and used a school blocks from her studio as an example of how bad it is and people had a fit! LOL.

Probably because the fact that she has a lot of money and she does a lot of good things with it, most of the men that are probably interested in her are only around for the money and She would never truely know if they werent' and if there was a divorce then she would have to pay them money for the rest of their lives and everything she earned in her life time would be going to that one person she decided to let her guard down for.
If you had that much money would you seriously put yourself out their if you were that famous.
If she wanted to go down that road, she could just start sending me money on a monthly basis until she dies.
I am sure that if there was someone special she wouldn't just blurt it out for the world to see, She needs to have some privacy even if she is in the lime light all the time.

She said she didn't want to get married in a recent issue of her magazine and she said it on a recent show [which I didn't catch, but only saw the previews]. I'm guessing because maybe a lot of guys are intimidated by her success and some may feel insecure about the fact that she's more successful than them. Maybe she also feels that being married will make her feel less free and more inhibited.

From the way I understood it, she is committed, but doesn't feel the need for the ceremony. She came from a rough background and I think always wanted to be sure before she married. She values marriage and children very much and would never rush into it. Now she is in a loving and committed relationship, and has been for years, and doesn't feel like getting married is what is best for her.

Perhaps, its not for her. I dont know for sure why she opted to not marry, but maybe she hasnt found that special person for her.
I've heard rumors that she is a lesbian. I don't put too much stock in this theory. Plus, it's her proragative to not get married.
Or, she could just want to hold onto her money. With over fifty percent of marriages ending in divorce, she could want to hold onto her money.
Also, its still not too late for her to get married if she chooses.
I know I've given alot of speculation but since I am not in Oprah's confidence, it's all I can offer.

Be sure, she isnt gay, and if she was, gay people can and do marry, you know!!! Theres a few I know personally.! So what difference does it make? Plenty of people dont want to get married. She can keep all her own earnings, have sex with whoever she chooses, act like a slob if she feels like it and not answer or run after anybody and never worry herself sick if hes having an affair!

2) She is spoiled by her wealth and power. She is totally comfortable with her business life which consists of making any whim that occurs to her happen instantly. No Viagra-free man would want to be around such a self-indulged woman. The only giving I can see her doing is one that she announces ... "And now, in Oprah's life, you are going to see me, Oprah, perform a generous act to you, my boyfriend."

She didn't want to get married because she feels that it would give her personal power to another. She doesn't need a man to support her and it has been her experience that having a relationship when you are successful and rich is a difficult balancing act, so why mess with that? Her and Steadman seem to have found a good thing, so why does everyone worry about it?
