No, how many times has Johnson been in the lead for most of the season and then blown it at the end.

Why all this talk about Kenseth's peaking? Kenseth has been strong ALL year, he's just been fortunate to get a couple wins in a row. He could have 6 or 7 wins by now if everything went his way. He also doesn't have those 13 top 5s by accident. Does Johnson still have a chance at the championship? Absolutely. Then again, so does everyone of the other 10 teams in the chase. It's not just about how good each team is, they're gonna need a lot of luck to get that championship.

Of course he has a chance for the championship. Anybody that makes the Chase for the Championship has a chance. Kenseth does have some strong momentum right now, but there are ten races in the Chase and anything can happen.
The #48 team is just coasting right now. I think they will step up the program at New Hampshire.

Since the points are going to be reset in a couple weeks whoever is in the top ten has a chance at the championship. And since Johnson is in the chase for sure, yes he still has a chance at the championship. This doesn't mean he will win, but he does have a chance still.

That's a rather bizarre question. "Now that the leader is still in the lead, only not by as much, does he still have a chance of winning?" It's hard to say he doesn't have a chance when he's still in the lead.
Anyway, yeah, Johnson's still got it. Kenseth's had a run of great races and yet he's still behind Johnson: that tells you something.
"How many times has Jimmie been in the lead a lot then blown it?" Precisely once. His sophomore season. Way to go.

Since the start of the "Chase for the Nextel Cup" anyone in the top ten has a chance for the Nextel Championship. Once the "Chase" has begun the leader will only be ahead by 5 points. So Johnson will still have a chance, he will just have to beat out ten other guys to get the top award.

Technically, the top 10 will have an equal chance of winning the championship. The last 10 races of the season will be the deciding factor. I hope neither wins.
Johnson already has a smug attitude as far as I'm concerned. I'd hate to see him with a cup. It'll go to his head, like it did with so many others. He can't handle the championship.

Anybody that is in the top 10 when the chase starts, has a chance at the championship because the points are so close at that point. Right now all that matters, points-wise, is getting into the top 10 and staying there. When the chase starts, it's anyone's game!!!! Any of them will have a chance at it.

i think he's got a chance..that's the whole point in the chase is that at the beginning of the 10 races it's set back and those 10 guys all have a good chance. however, i think matty has a better chance. he's getting stronger and the 48 team seems to have it's fair share of struggles right now. in the end, as much crap as i'll eat for it from afriend out of the two i'd be happier to see matty get his 2nd cup.. but i have faith in my boys!!!
#20 and #24!!!

This season is shaping up like the last 3. Jimmie dominates when it doesn't matter and runs out of steam, when it does matter. It is looking like this is Kenseth's year again. It is playing out exactly like his last title. I think it is hilarious, down with Hendrick Motorsports.
