according to my favorite website on computer security, (bleepingcomputer) they say that you should only have ONE antivirus program, and make sure it is updated frequently.

i have avg free and it works great. I'm sure trend micro is alright also since it's a large commercial AV. good luck

It's nice to disable any other antivirus programm or scanners to free up resources and speed up the scanning process, turn on antivirus scanner you currently intend to use when scanning, so only run 1 at a time, you can use online and offline scanners it should be no problem at all, and having other offline desktop antivirus software installed at sametime should be ok, 1 common mistake people make that slows things down is leaving an antivirus scanners background process that runs and scans in background in realtime running while at the sametime running another form of a scan, let's say you're running McAfee and it's doing an automatic scan of your computer, while at sametime you run a scan on same machine using an online free antivirus scanner like Trend Micro's Housecall, that's a bad idea because they're both accessing your machines files and it overworks the machine leaving chance to possibility of causing program problems.

Those programs work just fine but remember, not every antivirus program will pick up everything another one will, that's the downside to all these antivirus programs and misc trojan etc. scanners, aside from the fact they'll only pickup things which are widely known about and not things which are as custom developed say for instance today.

It's best practice to only use 1 anti-virus scanner due to the way these programs are created.

In your case, Trend is one of the top anti-virus scanners so you should have no problems with viruses as long as you keep the virus definitions library on Trend up to date. Meaning update Trend frequently like you would do with any other virus scanner.

hi, they are both very good anti-virus software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

2 anti-virus apps= big no no

They interfere with each other and use up system resources.

Choose one and uninstall the other.
