well if u go by the planned space travel from virgin( branson) the planned ship that will be used is going 5 miles above the earths atmosphere just enough for it to stay in earth gravitational pull and the ship is going 70 miles up so that would make the travel from earth to and through earths atmosphere 65 miles. oh yeah and it will cost 108 grand for a seat.

62 miles up (100 kilometers) is generally considered to be the top of the atmosphere and the beginning of outer space.
