Silent Hill?

I just bought Silent Hill, is a good movie? Or is it just another cheesy horror flick?

I really like Silent Hill - the games. The movie is okay, but if you're not familiar with the games, it's hard to follow. My bf didn't get it at all, cuz he's not a gamer. If anything, it confuses the games, not clarifies them. The sfx are really good in it, and there were one or two times I jumped out of my seat in the theater. But if they were shooting for a faithful remake of Silent Hill 1, which is what fans of the games were looking for, they missed the mark. I did love that they incorporated some of the creepier, skin crawling moments of SH1 into the movie, opening story line and some of the added material story was not part of the game. Overall - if you're not a fan of the game, it's awesome, if a little confusing. If you are a fan, it's good, but disappointing.

I just bought it was well, and I thought it was a pretty good movie. It's true that you have to have some kind of background knowledge with the game though, but my sister didn't play the game and she could pretty much figure out what was going on.

i liked the movie, ive heard complaints from other people on it, but i would recommend that you watch it before judging it. i wanted to watch it because of the video game and the fact that i didnt understand it. it was just a confusing ending. there were multiple endings also. anyways, what im trying to say is that i really liked the movie because there was a plot and not just random killing, and it clarified the game for me too.

i would never watch it, but i heard from my friends that its a good movie.
btw - why would you buy it if u didn't know if you'd like it or now?
