Land Rover is correct. But he is wrong about it being built on a Jeep chassis! Although it's function is very similar, Land Rover always designed their own stuff. (including chassis).

Their first SUV was actually built on a Jeep Chassis.
Jeeps are the SUV insperation of all automakers. Notice how a hummer looks like a Jeep? That is because an H-1 hummer is a jeep. Another company got the government contract to build it though. Patent laws arn't the same when it comes to government work.

It used to be Land Rover. It no longer makes it's own chassis. It is now owned by Ford.
Do you know what the latest LR3 is based on? Really..give it a good guess.
You dont believe me, go look under these cars and their chassis layout.

I dont know, but i would like to know more about it so let me know what you find out. Thats pretty cool. Maybe he made some more fuel efficient SUV's that we havent really known about.
