I have scanned with Norton. No good.

It sounds like you set the computer to shutdown after a period of inactivity. Right click any empty space on the desktop > Properties > click the "Screen Saver" tab > click [Power] > for "Turn off hard disk," choose Never. However, you can also choose to go in to either Standby or Hibernate mode after a period of inactivity. This is probably a better choice than shutting down the hard drive. Using the Standby mode, after a period of inactivity, the computer shutdowns most processes but there is a trickle of electricity keeping the CPU and motherboard alive. In Hibernate mode, the computer saves ever active process in to memory and then shuts down everything on the computer. In this mode, when you turn on the computer, the computer is exactly like you left it. As a general rule, Standby mode is recommended for desktop computers. Hibernate mode is recommended for laptops.

1. Right-Click on the wallpaper (desktop)
2. Select Properties
3. Click Screen Saver
4. Click Power...
See were it says Turn off hard disc? Click the arrow next to it and select a good amount.

lsass.exe could be the problem windows shuts down if this opp does...does a window pop up saying anything in particular....

it is probaly a virus or you crossed some software.

if it is hardware it is most likely your cpu is over heating

It could be infected with a virus. Try scanning it witha Virus program. If you do not have one then try www.avast.com to get a free one.

some programs have a "wake up computer" setting in order to do a task. it coulld be something as simple as that.
