I am Fench and I confirm your opinion.
I suggest that everybody compare the google number of results between the sentence "I hate the French" (28 600) and "Je déteste les Américains" (55) or "Je hais les Américains" (48).
Recently many conservative media personalities and politicians have made deliberate efforts to exacerbate the anti-French sentiment. So my theory is that you expect people to react against you as you are doing against them. We hadn't any "anti-american" campain in the French press, that's why French are not hating the American people.
What is true on the other hand, is that French (like other European nations, and maybe less than some other European nations) doesn't like at all the actual American Governement.
Simply, bush is an idiot and should rot in hell. How dare he lie about us French!

I don't hate French. As for the WMD's they did find a whole bunch of shells with chemicals in them. ALL intelligence agencies around the world said they were there, not just Americans. As for President Bush, we haven't had an attack like 9/11 since. By the way, even the French said at the beginning there were weapons there.

I like the French and all their pastries, cheese and wine and fashion. I like the French Rivera and the alps. They are smart and peaceful people. We should embrace them. They only hate America because of Bush.
