My boyfriend is having a problem with his feet. The skin between his toes is cracking and extremely dry and smelly. It gets so itchy he can't stand it sometimes and he has tried a lot of different remedies. I heard that using lotion doesn't work because if it is a virus it needs to be dried out as it needs moisture. Can you tell me some home remedies?

try an anti-fungal cream such as canestin cream. it moisturizes and would kill most fungi. As another person said, avoid socks and closed shoes. and follow the directions to the canestin cream 100% of the way. If that doesn't work in a week or two see a doctor or see one asap.

i have had chronic foot problems of this nature. tell him not to wear shoes and socks as much as possible. the harmful bacteria that causes this problem fester in moist places like socks. go barefoot as much as possible and make sure to dry out the feet with a good scrubbing. use soap, not the kind that moisturizes, and let the feet get some air for God sakes. it might take awhile but trust me it is better than nothing.

try changing shoes and socks a couple of times a day to keep the feet dry, but i would really suggest checking out this website for some OTC help and some really good info, myfootshop.com

Use Neosporin. if it is drying and cracking that is best to heal and if it is a virus that will help kill it.
