Yes, due to the length of time they have existed, and yes the service sucks, but at least there IS service.

For the most part, they do a good job. They are often not held to account for problems, but at the same time the service is very cheap relative to the rest of the world. To get a better idea of what they are capable of doing, they should be allowed to charge prevailing market rates while allowing outside companies like UPS or FedEx the opportunity to deliver first class mail.

they suck royally. over the last 2 months i have had to send several packages to a friend in Elmhurst NY.. and the first month was fine. but then suddenly all packages kept coming back saying "attempted unknown".. the address had been at the same since the beginning . and now suddenly it doesn't work?? if they had at LEAST attempted it. they would not have had to return it as the person lives at that dress. i don't care if you are a new mail carrier or what. if the address is valid DELIVER the damn thing. what kind of an idiot cannot follow simple instructions.

They are moving millions of pacakages and letters everyday and almost all of them get there. That's a good job.

I sell stuff on ebay and probably ship about 300 packages per month. Not one of my packages has gotten misplaced or lost (unless I made an error in address). This is because I adress them carefully and use proper packaging. Most people who have problems have those problems because they aren't packaging and addressing properly. If you write illegibly it's not USPS's fault that your letter doesn't get there. If you put the wrong zip code it's not their fault that it doesn't get there. If you put stuff in improper packaging it's not their fault.

My letters seem to end up where I send them. Thats really the only thing I ask. So yes, I think they do an adequate job.

hey, we all have job to do...they do the best they can. Doesn't mean they like what they are doing but it's a job, a good paying job and I think we should respect them for that.
