Depends on my mood...

Just hanging out, very relaxed and ultra-casual...a party w/ friends.

More social...a bar. Activities available at a particular one would determine which bar I would attend...big-screen t.v., karaoke, band, darts, pool table, etc.

Gettin' my groove on...a nightclub. Nothing like totally 'dressing to impress' and dancing all night long!

A party. The town I live in has no nightclub. The one bar in town is as big as a 7 - 11 and always crowded. A party is more personal, everyone knows eneryone else and it's usually a happy celebration.

I'd rather go to a party. It is less expensive if not free. You are usually surrounded with friends. There is usually better music and food than at a nightclub. Bars are full of cigarette smoke.

Nightclub - has alcohol, good music (usually), lots of friends, and dancing. A bar is always good for those lower key nights.
