why does my direct TV dvr r10 only show half of the channels and when i search the signal strenght evens work

and odds dont

You may have a problem with your dish connection. Run through the system test and make sure you get signal from all of the satellites (there are two or three) and all of the transponders. If you have more than one cable coming from the dish, make sure both are connected. If you still have problems, call DirecTV for help.
